Dear dA,
It's been about two years since you last heard from me, but it doesn't mean I haven't been here in spirit. Like I said in my last journal, I check my account more or less everyday and follow my favorite artists fairly regularly.
It goes without saying that my life has undergone some changes in the last two years. No longer am I the doodling, high-schooler with endless amounts of time on her hands. Instead, I've been a university student for three years, studying music and anthropology. I'm studying abroad at the moment, currently preparing for my final year at uni and applying to grad schools.
It's true I have had these changes, but it doesn't mean I haven't been drawing. On the contrary, I take my drawing just as seriously as ever. Drawing, character and story development are still precious hobbies of mine, but that is all they are: Hobbies; things I love, but must come secondary to things like life, school, and relationships.
That being said I do plan to return to dA as a more or less full-time deviant one day. However, I want to upload any of my work until I feel that I can devote enough time and energy my art itself (and feel confident in sharing it with the wider Internet) and to purposely interact with the dA community. I do feel that dA is a community of artists and I am not interested in half-assing my interactment with it and its members.
I don't plan on deleting this account. I have my reasons for wishing to remain "sketch" and I don't want to abandon (although I'm pretty sure I have anyway) those who watch this account.
To those that still watch me: Thanks for continuing to do so. One day I hope we can support each other's art as we used to.
To all: As I said, I do check my account fairly often. Feel free to drop me a line and I will do my best to reply in a timely manor.
Until our next meeting, Cheers!
